The client grants administrators the capability to log in to a vCenter Server, managing and monitoring virtual machines, hosts, and clusters. Furthermore, administrators can monitor long-running tasks and receive push notifications upon their completion.

The vSphere Mobile Client equips on-the-go administrators with the following functionalities:

  • Virtual machine list showcasing resource consumption overviews and detailed VM information. Users can conveniently access the VM console or delve into specifics such as events, performance charts, and execute quick actions.
  • ESXi host list displaying resource consumption summaries and essential host details like state and uptime. The detailed host page includes events and performance charts.
  • Cluster list offering insights into cluster resource consumption and configuration summaries (e.g., DRS, HA, and migration count).
  • Task monitoring feature where users can subscribe to running tasks and receive mobile notifications upon task completion, irrespective of their device's status.
  • Performance charts for real-time resource monitoring over selected time frames (day, week, month, year) with CPU, Memory, Storage, and Network counters available.

NOTE: The VMware vSphere Mobile Client application has undergone testing with vCenter server version 6.0 (and higher). Secure access methods like VPN may be necessary for accessing vSphere infrastructure on mobile devices. For additional support, reach out to your IT department.

This version is part of a tech preview release and provides a limited set of functionalities. Updates introducing new features are released on a regular basis. Feedback on desired features for the application is highly encouraged.
